Tired of Mississippi yet?
How many shots of the Mississippi River can you tolerate?
Linking this one with
Weekend Reflection
Vicksburg is more of a traditional vacation spot.
Historic downtown with cobblestone streets,
old mansions, B & Bs, and of course Civil War sites galore.
We were told that this "riverboat" casino was out of business.
There were a few more casinos along the riverbanks.
There were creature accommodations also.
I imagine these are for purple martins which supposedly eat mosquitoes.
The time we went was dictated by when my husband could get away from work.
It coincided with the hottest week of May on record (my opinion, I did not check the record books).
So, with 90+ temps and even higher humidity, I was pretty much miserable the whole time.
After we got home a couple of cold fronts have come through.
Wouldn't you know it.
We stayed at the Baer House Inn.
A beautiful old home and well managed bed and breakfast.
I'll show more later on.
(and thank goodness the air conditioning worked well)

Gorgeous sunset and reflections on the water and a great post for the day! Love the B&B and the paddle wheeler! Reminds me of New Orleans! What a fun tour of such a lovely old city! Enjoy your weekend, Amy!

wish i were there to see all this with my own eyes/camera, but yours takes me there from here. love all of these,
wonderful pics and reflection :)
I'm enjoying the Mississippi tour!
First of all, I adore the enchanting collage in your blog header! Stunning! And love all the views of your world in this post! Some fascinating building perspectives!
We had stopped there for the night on our way to Texas. We only really got to see the Battle field and didn't get to stay there nearly long enough to see everything. I can see we need to go back there :)
Now, this would be my ideal vacation. Love everything about this post. Will have to add to Vicksburg to my wish list.
Wonderful post and great photo of the sunset!
:)
I love Mississippi...I'm from Alabama, as you know, so it's like home to me. There are so many interesting things to see, and it looks like you got to enjoy so many of them! Sorry it was so hot while you were there! You took some amazing photos! Just loved them. Check with Red Bubble about getting notecards done...I know you could sell them!
