This barn is in my hometown and is the subject on one of the town's postcards sold in local shops. It is not situated where you safely can get a shot from the road. The owners are distantly related on my mother's side so we stopped one day and asked permission.
It's a beautiful place.

She's a beauty, for sure, esp under that blue sky... is it painted black or is that just really dark barn wood?
Love all that green, too!
Thanks in advance for joining, Amy! =)
really pretty. love that opening cut-out. :)
Beautiful shots, Amy! Your photos could be on postcards. Very nice!
Great shots of this barn!
Very pretty shots, Amy
Nice barn! I love that open doorway.
The weathered wood barn underneath that sky and in the midst of the clover and buttercups is indeed charming!!
Lovely shots Amy!
Beautiful shots! Lucky you to be able to get permission to take photos of this lovely barn.
Tricia, is isn't painted. That's the natural weathered barn wood. The sun was high so they are a little contrasty.
I shall discovery many stories inside the barn.
If I am there.
But I am to tied down over here.
Have a great day to you.
You've got to love those cooperative distant relatives! Beautiful shot of the barn.
lovely old barn sitting among the clover.
This is a nice barn and a very pretty setting!
That barn looks like it has a lot of history behind it. Very nice.
I bet it made a very nice postcard. Beautiful area, too.
I'm struck by the dark weathering of all that wood. I wonder if it's a different species than most commonly used in middle America?
Having trouble remembering my nouns today--an age thing, I think. :-) Anyway, I think the way the boards are laid out in the eaves is just beautiful--so straightforward, functional and visually appealing. How old is the barn do you think?
Love this barn. You just do not see black barns here. This is so neat. Nice that you could get up close and personal .
