The Barn Collective #31 - News

Just off Hwy 64 between Lawrenceburg and Pulaski, TN

Hello all.
I am happy to announce that Tom, The Backroads Traveller, would like to take up the barn meme.   Currently, we are experimenting with my existing linkup on his blog, so bear with us.  It might not go perfectly (or go at all) at first.

Many thanks to Tom!!!

On the other side

There seemed to be some interest in what was on the other side of the Mt. Zion swinging bridge that I posted the other day.   There is a pasture on the other side and one day in 2010, these gals, and possibly some guys, were there.

Then, on down the road a bit, some of their friends had just been called for feeding.

As far as crossing the bridge, yes, I have crossed it and it seems to be in pretty good shape.  It seems to have been built sturdily and has had some work done in recent years.

Use my "Mt. Zion" label for more.

Moo (Rurality # 4)

Neighbor cows wandered into the yard of the private residence where we stayed in Franklin, Tennessee this past December while having medical treatments in Nashville.

Mt. Zion - more from July 4th

Mt. Zion is a few miles away from Appleton and we always go there too.
Sugar Creek runs by this old church and cemetery.

My handsome hubby on the swinging bridge a couple of years ago.

My mother on the bridge this year.  I didn't think she would walk across it.

One of my favorite shots from a couple of years ago.  These cows live next door to the church.

We also go wading.  At least our feet get cooled off.  I would like to just lay down in the water.

Dreary but still charming

It was a dreary day on Hwy 11 in Giles County Tennessee, but my friend and I took a few hundred photos anyway.

This farm is directly across the road from the Oxford Cemetery from this post on my main blog.

You can see the long white cemetery sign just above the hay bales.  Have I ever gotten a photo of the cemetery sign?  Of course not.  I always miss some of the best shots.  And it's a sign with character, too.

Country Cemetery Road

A beautiful cemetery in extreme southern Tennessee always captures my attention when I drive by.

It is called Oxford Cemetery and is on Hwy 11 in Giles County.

It is even pretty when you leave.

Fair Entries and 1st Place

I entered these images in the Middle Tennessee District Fair in Lawrenceburg, TN this year. The butterfly earned a 1st place ribbon.
