Somewhere in Jackson County, Alabama or extreme southern Tennessee.
This house is across the road.
I wonder if they go together?

These are really cool! I like the roof on the barn and the hay stacked underneath. The stone chimney on the house is awesome! Honestly, I think the barn is in better shape than the house! LOL
"Please re-cycle me."It said.
Very cool...love these photos!
Somebody with a well-stocked hay barn would take better care of a house so I think the house belongs to a neighbor.
I love both of them! It would be great if someone came in and fixed them up.
They're both beauties! Looks like quite a few buildings back there behind the house... makes ya wonder what they're all used for!
The barn is fantastic... love all those bales!
Thanks in advance for joining =)
Great old barn with the round hay bales. Great picture of the old house too. I love these kind of pictures, but I hate that the buildings aren't being taken care of.
Perhaps the owners built another house on the property? Or, the land is being used for farming/livestock only. Sad to see...
They look like they were probably built in the same timeframe, but no telling if they went together or not. A couple of lovely photos, at any rate.
Often times I've seen a road split property so I guess it's possible.
Both definitely need some TLC.
The hay in the barn doesn't appear to have be falling apart so it would seem the barn gets regular use.
That fireplace was made with some large bricks. :)
Nice shots Amy!
I don't know if they went together, but they are both great finds, and both are charming!
I love the roof line of that barn and that's a great old ruin you found. Nice catches both!
poor old house :(
Maybe they go together - - - this barn looks like tractor shed and hay bale shelter. But if you look past the back end of the house, I believe I spy another barn back there - - - shaped more like the livestock barn.
Oh the stories these places could tell - - -
So sad to see them forgotten and unloved.
These are great photos. I am sad for the farmhouse that is falling down. One day all that will be standing is the stone chimney!
Terrific finds! The house with the buildings behind speaks of many memories and probably some mysteries. Love the old barn --bales of hay always add wonderful texture and reality to a barn.:>)
What a place. There's something intriguing in abandoned houses. The barn looks like it has wings and the round haybales are under the wing like chicklings. :)
This is true country, isn't it--that barn shape so spare and functional and the hay tucked away under the barn shelter instead of lying in the fields wrapped in white plastic like a mega giant marshmallow. And I agree with you about the house "fix me up please." Must have once been a beauty.
I really love photos of barns and yours are so nice. I live in the Shetland Isles. I don't have a barn but I have a small flock of sheep. Please feel free to have a look at my blog at www.ayarnoverneedles.blogspot.co.uk
Everyone welcome.
I mainly 'yarn' about Shetland and it's wool and knitting, but also about my sheep.
Take care.
Excellent shots. Love the barn; the house seems just a little beyond help.
Darryl and Ruth :)
It would be great if that farmstead could be restored.
I am still trying to get caught up after my time in hospital etc.
What a get find. The barn is great but the house is my favorite. If those walls could just tell us their stories. The chimney and the porch make the shot.
