Loss
Rest in peace, my sweet husband.
My husband, Tony, passed away this past week. He was a wonderful man, husband, father, son, brother.
We miss him very much.

It's cold in Alabama
The weather man down the road from us reported 5 degrees on their farm this morning.
Thought a sunflower might make us feel better.
This lady was 12+ feet tall and that sunflower is almost 2 feet in diameter.

Pokeweed review
My annual shots of the poke weed plant that comes up down at the garden.
I always remind my husband to leave one stalk because I think it's a looker.
These were taken one evening in late August just seconds apart and the only change was that I stepped to the west a couple feet and pointed the camera more to the south to get the garage out of the shot. Just a couple of feet can change the lighting quite a bit.

Corn is lush, corn is scary
This year's crop in fields surrounding my place is feed corn.
What was lush and green a couple of months ago is now dry, brown and ready to harvest . . . and scary looking . . . to me anyway.
I dread when they harvest because of the dust.
Ah-choo.
Ah-choo.

Smoky Mountain sunset
We spent a few days in the Great Smoky Mountains a couple of weeks ago. The fall color was a little late this year so I didn't get many(any) of those great photos I was hoping for.
But, this view from our cabin near Gatlinburg was pretty good. The orange you see on the mountains was from the sunset rather than fall color in the trees.
Pretty anyway, huh?

You're being watched
This was one of the taller Zinnias in the batch.
It reminds me of a city of skyscrapers and he is on the tallest roof watching everything.
