The Barn Collective - A link up for barns
Fall 2013
Extreme southern Giles County, Tennessee
I didn't get many takers on the barn linkup, but I'll do this one and see what happens.
I'm calling it The Barn Collective

Idyllic
Got it all here.
Rural, old, architecture, abandoned, fence, church, blue sky
Sometimes we avoid the interstate going back and forth to Nashville.
We found this gem this week.

Homestead
A favorite from 2010
On "the Lexington Road" in Lauderdale County, Alabama
The last time I went by, the barn had fallen.

Cluttered skies
We've had a lot of rain and high winds this spring in north Alabama. The skies looked dramatic like this at some point each day for several days straight. This week the clouds are back again and we've had a little more rain.
It does make for photo ops.

Countryside
Not an unusual or remarkable fence, but it's a good one surrounding the picture perfect pasture.

Barn revival
I call this "the Home Depot barn" because you can only see it from the Home Depot parking lot in Pulaski, Tennessee.

Random: Dreads and a storm
A draft post I found from a couple of years ago that never got posted.
Random is right.
Do you ever look back and wonder what in the world were you thinking?
One thing I do know is that this was "BC".
"Before cancer".
Before my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Back when I had nothing to do but notice how crape myrtles reminded me of hair. And I did lots of meaningless, silly things. And I had fun doing them. :)
Some crape myrtles make me think of dreadlocks with beads.
When the sky is green and/or purple, you can expect hail.
Luckily it was small hail.

Smoky Mountain sunset
We spent a few days in the Great Smoky Mountains a couple of weeks ago. The fall color was a little late this year so I didn't get many(any) of those great photos I was hoping for.
But, this view from our cabin near Gatlinburg was pretty good. The orange you see on the mountains was from the sunset rather than fall color in the trees.
Pretty anyway, huh?
