You're being watched
This was one of the taller Zinnias in the batch.
It reminds me of a city of skyscrapers and he is on the tallest roof watching everything.
Update: This photo earned a 3rd Place ribbon in the "flower category" at the

Photo entries at the fair
Here are the results of my entries in the photography competition at the Middle Tennessee District Fair in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
There are about 15 different categories and each person can enter one photo in each category.
I entered a total of nine this year. I know that sounds like a lot, but everyone else in line has a stack too. Last year I entered four and earned one 1st place ribbon.
Here are all of my entries.
1st Place in Computer Manipulated
(I did more enhancing on this one than usual, so that's why I put it in that category)
Here is the SOOC.
1st Place in Architecture
3rd Place in Seascape/Waterscape
3rd Place in Skyscape
The rest didn't win anything, but I'm extremely proud of what I did get!!!

Fair Preview
Saturday, the first day of fall, we went to the fair in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to enter my photos into the exhibit. Several things were getting set up, but the bulk of the rides were probably still at the previous location.
The rabbit judging was ongoing
and so was the chicken judging.
I don't know the criteria, but these all look the same to me, especially from this viewpoint.

Would you believe that I have never eaten a funnel cake?
I save my fried dough eating for Cafe Du Monde and Krispy Creme.
I do always get a greasy corndog, though.
Today we go to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Please send good thoughts.

Scorpion and dark skies
Lincoln County Fair, Fayetteville, Tennessee

2010
All you mid-westerners are posting shots from fairs and carnivals, so I had to get in on the action.
Fairs in these parts are not until late September, early October so here is one from a couple of years ago.
I didn't think they would come out, but high ISO and lots of noise reduction made them acceptable.
One day I will (or maybe not) lug the tripod and get a Ferris Wheel motion shot.
