Main attraction

A couple of butterflies were flitting around these flowers the other day and it was overcast.  A perfect setting  so I went in for the camera and pulled up a chair.

Then along comes

and rubbed against the plants sending the butterflies off to find undisturbed flowers.

Luckily, the butterflies were back later in the day and the sky was still overcast.

"I'm still the main attraction."

Truly Rural This and That

We are not farmers and I don't want to give that impression at all.

Even though I can not speak from experience, I know that farming is a lot of hard work.

We live in a rural setting, yet in the city limits of a tiny town.
My husband has a small garden every year.

A farmer rents property surrounding our home.

I have a tomato plant in a washtub.

There are deer, coyotes, weasels in the barn, cats in the barn, gophers in the barn . . .

. . . and another yard animal that a friend made for me.
You couldn't get away with having this in a sub-division.

My signature coffee cup goes with me outside.
You have seen it before and probably will see it again.

Ruby or tomato?

May not be ruby red, but it's tomato red.

Homemade pizza.

Thin crust for me.

Thicker crust for Hubby.

Dining outside under our pretty green umbrella.

He likes peppers and onions.

And Pearl likes anything.
Here she is, headed to my plate.

Just so you know, we do not allow her on the table in the house.
But, we don't (can't) enforce that on the outdoor tables.
This is her table so she should get to eat whatever is on it.
Sorry, Pearl, my girl.

She gets her feelings hurt very easily.

"I really, really want some."

Random Eclectic

My girl, Pearl.

Have you really ever looked at cat's fur?  It's striking.
After numerous attempts (over many years and multiple cats) at getting a really clear fur photo,
I think I'm giving up.
Handheld + purring/breathing cat makes it impossible, at least for me.
Tripod = cat running away.
Eliminating the purring/breathing part = morbid.
So, I'll be happy with this one.
