St. Mary Basilica, Natchez

Needed the tripod for this one, but it is still pretty.

St. Mary Basilica, Natchez, Mississippi, U. S. A.

Remember that there will not be a Barn Collective linkup today, but it will return next Sunday, December 28.

Happy Holidays!

Old Sheldon Church Ruins

Once again, I post something very old and beautiful that is definitely not rubbish.

Old Sheldon Church Ruins, near Beaufort, South Carolina.
I have included the Wikipedia link, but I recommend Googling it as there are several other informative sites about the ruins.

Idyllic

Got it all here.
Rural, old, architecture, abandoned, fence, church, blue sky

Sometimes we avoid the interstate going back and forth to Nashville.
We found this gem this week.

Dark skies

Late afternoon a few days ago just north of Pulaski, Tennessee, U. S. A.
There was no post processing on this photo.  The sky really looked like this.

Christmastime Church

A historic church building in my town.

Every year in December there is an "Old Fashioned Christmas" celebration with some activities taking place at this historic church building.  Would you believe that I have never been?

The above is a rendering of the old building painted by my mother.

Cairo to Shanghai

I've been around the world again.  And all in an afternoon.

Cairo and Shanghai are just a few miles apart.

Mt. Zion - more from July 4th

Mt. Zion is a few miles away from Appleton and we always go there too.
Sugar Creek runs by this old church and cemetery.

My handsome hubby on the swinging bridge a couple of years ago.

My mother on the bridge this year.  I didn't think she would walk across it.

One of my favorite shots from a couple of years ago.  These cows live next door to the church.

We also go wading.  At least our feet get cooled off.  I would like to just lay down in the water.

Old church

Hwy 31, Giles County, Tennessee

The above old church building is behind the below old church building
that I photographed a couple of years ago.
I don't know how I missed the old church building then.

The University of the South

There seems to be a trend here.  I do drive around in Tennessee quite often.  This is the campus in Sewanee, Tennessee.

Electricity is great . . . but, power lines and poles sure clutter up a country scene.

This is just off the road (55?) between Lynchburg and Tullahoma, Tennessee

It's been a few months, but I think this was taken on Hwy 64 between Fayetteville and Winchester, Tennessee.
