Cones

Coneflowers.

Sometimes you need to look closer.

I always looked over these flowers at the nursery because the plant as a whole is not pretty to me.

The red/orange with the light pink seems so unusual to me.

These first two shots were taken in the shade on a sunny day and are SOOC.

The rest below were taken in the late evening and have noise reduction.

The flower is interesting with the odd combination of colors. Your close up shots enhance the colors and make them so much more apparent, especially the pink. Great job capturing the flower.

I always look past them, too, but you've taken some beautiful shots & I love that shot of the stem, very cool, they deserve a closer look, for sure! =)

Really nice pictures - they kind of remind me of fingers with nail varnish on them. I know I'm strange :))

I've always had a soft spot for these flowers -- there are so many varieties now, but I prefer the standard pink. Lovely shots, Amy.

I agree the plant is not that great but when a group are added behind something shorter they are fantastic for adding color to a otherwise dull bed.
