Powder Mill Hill
Somewhere between Lawrenceburg and Pulaski, Tennessee
So many times there is something in a photo that I wish I had looked at more closely at the time of the shot.
What is that pink thing on the left side of the porch?
This place is photo opp rich and only about thirty minutes from home and I had planned to go back anyway. When it is cooler. Much cooler.
Hey, the forecast shows ten degrees cooler next week. Only 97!
Update: Everyone is asking so many questions about this place . . .
There are three or four buildings with cool junk. American Picker worthy junk.
I don't think they live there, but I'm sure nearby. The owner said he and his dad had another business there from the 70s and it just grew into this.
Yes, this building is built over a creek.
There is a path along the creek from the back of the main store along the creek to this building.
It's just cool.
If you use my Label for Powder Mill Hill you can see a few other shots I've already posted.
I'll have a few more shots to post here and there from this visit.
Then, of course, when I go back . . .

if we are speaking of the same pink item...an old school ice box ... that is what the hubby says ... now he wants to make a visit there to see it all in person. i knew he would. i saw it & thought my hubby needs to go there asap. have a good weekend. stay cool. (:
Wow, this is quite the building. Love all the quirky things laying around and the pink fridge. Does someone live there or is this stuff for sale? I hope you get some cooling rain soon.
Love this place! What is it exactly? Do they sell things? It is only 105 here and we are hoping for the upper 90's next week. Ugh!!
i want to go there please. maybe the pink thing is a very old fridge or ice box? American Pickers would love this place and me toooo
Look at all that stuff! Photo op rich, indeed! Is it an old, old soda machine, maybe? I dunno... but love all the old signs... and some dump trucks for my nephew, oh I'd have a field day there! =)
Is it a bridge across a stream? It looks like there's no ground under the middle of it...
ps be careful where you walk inside...
I can tell whoever put this all together is quite a character! I hope you get back soon and get a closer look at the pink item.
I love this!
Must be some very interesting people that put this together. Fascinating shot - Fabulous capture.
Isn't that a NEAT place. I've never stopped by. But, I've been at auctions where he was there, and he'd buy anything and everything. Gotta be lots of goodies inside.
I've heard that the 64 Bypass has really hurt him.....I hope he can stay around for awhile.
A very photogenic structure! Is it a junk or antique shop?
Awesome place!
What a great little building! It looks like a place American Pickers would end up at!
Looks like a great stop for the A. pickers!
So exciting!
Many thoughts come over me when I look at the picture!
Old American movies, (which I love) and much much more ......
Have a great Sunday
This is the perfect place to "pick"! How fun! Great photo!!
Great shot! Makes me ponder the continuing question of what the line is between junk and fascinating stuff.
That certainly looks like an original, Amy. Great shot, and a lot of food for thought here.
That looks like such a fascinating place! Glad you shared.
I love this shot for so many reasons - I love that the cabin was built over a creek, and the treasures gathered here... wow! Thank you Amy, for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #37!
I hope the creek doesn't get too high! I think I may have to check this place out next time I spend a week at son's house in TN. Would be a fun side trip for us.
Too cool! So many photo opps here. Nicely captured.
What a cool shot, it looks like a scene out of a movie. Cool photo.
This reminds me of a place not far from me...I have photos on both blogs....I want to go back when it is cooler and the lighting better. There is so much stuff to see that one simply cannot take it all in in one visit. It is out in the middle of no where....there is a house across the way but one goes and just wonders around and looks.
