Coneflowers.
Sometimes you need to look closer.
I always looked over these flowers at the nursery because the plant as a whole is not pretty to me.
The red/orange with the light pink seems so unusual to me.
These first two shots were taken in the shade on a sunny day and are SOOC.
The rest below were taken in the late evening and have noise reduction.

SOOC, that's original.
And a good challenge.
Georgia O'Keefe style ~ Awesome macro photos ~ Wow! ~thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)
beautiful shots of the cone flower, to me they make wonderful models for us photographers, so much on those petals.
Wonderful shots here!
Beautiful macro's! :)
Put 'em in a frame! They're beautiful!
Beautiful photos of coneflowers!
these flowers are totally dressed in their Sunday Best. i love the fuzzy green leaves and the macro of the insides. beautiful shots
I love coneflowers also; I have three in my garden. Wonderful photos!
Stunning shots of this gorgeous flower!
The flower is interesting with the odd combination of colors. Your close up shots enhance the colors and make them so much more apparent, especially the pink. Great job capturing the flower.
Amy these photos are stunning! Great work. Pamela
Beautiful shots of the cone flowers, Amy. I love the close up of the center.
I always look past them, too, but you've taken some beautiful shots & I love that shot of the stem, very cool, they deserve a closer look, for sure! =)
Really nice pictures - they kind of remind me of fingers with nail varnish on them. I know I'm strange :))
Very beautiful shots!
I've always had a soft spot for these flowers -- there are so many varieties now, but I prefer the standard pink. Lovely shots, Amy.
Wow, very nice, Amy! Love the detail!

I love those flowers...and your pictures...make them extra beautiful!
I agree the plant is not that great but when a group are added behind something shorter they are fantastic for adding color to a otherwise dull bed.
congrats! you are in the tops of weekend flowers :)
