The Yellow Baron

Taken from my back porch with a Tamron 18-270mm at 270.

He is a common sight in my little town.

The jet engine is a common sound.

He was probably fertilizing these corn fields near my house.

One year he fertilized the farmer's corn on my mother's property which surrounds my house.
I didn't like it so close to home, but the neighbor across the street called the cops, then showed up at my house himself with a gun in the car.

Needless to say, that farmer hasn't had corn here since I forbade crop dusting on the property.
I wonder if my neighbor complained this time.

Great shots. It's fun to watch those crop dusters. Since I live in town they don't get too close to me.

Great shots of the plane and the line of corn!
Your neighbor doesn't seem very friendly. :)

Great shots... I don't think I'd want to have pesticides sprayed over my house either...

I haven't seen our cropduster friend yet this year -- it's always a treat to see their acrobatics!

I don't think they do a lot of crop dusting around here. The farmer behind me sprays stuff on his crops with a tractor thing (technical term there) and that is dusty enough for me. I've been looking at that Tamron lens. Do you recommend it? I'm looking for one that gets me closer than the 50mm and 28-70mm ones that I use for stuff around the house.

Great photos, Amy! The bright yellow against the blue sky makes for fantastic colors! I don't recall the last time I saw a crop duster.
