There was a program about white-tail deer on PBS last week and I was surprised to learn that by human standards they are almost blind in the daytime. They basically detect motion. On the other hand, their sense of smell is I believe 300 times stronger than a human's, and their nighttime vision is remarkably good. Those golfers probably smelled pretty good to them!
