I see you brought some friends. (batting eyes)
Many, many friends.
Are there enough of you to go around?
Because there are a LOT of us girls.
Are you fellows Al and Bugsy?
It is close to St. Valentine's Day.
Ok, ok. Here's the deal. These are my Mother's paperdolls from the 1930s. According to my Mother, the girls could not wait for the new catalogs to come in so they could cut paperdolls out of the old one.
What a tease!
One of my favorite ensembles of the bunch.
Her feet were missing before I cut them off with the camera.
I wish I knew what this said.
And I looked. There are no male paperdolls in their underwear.
My Grandmother would have had a stroke.
I counted roughly and there are over 100 female dolls and about 40 male dolls.
And, I can't forget the child Queen of paperdolls,
Joan
Joan is over a foot tall. I don't know where her clothes are.
Things sure were simple in "the olden days".

Hi Amy, these were the days when toys such as these were appreciated. Although we see them sometimes today, I can't see any young girl getting as much pleasure out of them as we did back in the day! Thanks much for sharing a part of the past that gals like me still appreciate! Have a lovely day! Hugs
What a wonderful collection! I remember when I would visit my grandma, she would give me her McCalls magazine which always had Betsy McCall paper dolls on the last pages. SO fun, so cheap, so imaginative.
It is so cool that your mother saved her cut out paper dolls! I used to do this when I was little but we didn't save them! How special for you to get to have these! Sandie
These are fabulous...thanks for sharing!
I had forgotten about Betsy McCall. She had the cutest clothes. lol
They are neat and it is amazing they are still in tact. I visited Sandra this week and took photos. (I'm thinking now that I already told you this, forgive me). Thanks for commenting.
Thanks for visiting!
