Saturday, the first day of fall, we went to the fair in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to enter my photos into the exhibit. Several things were getting set up, but the bulk of the rides were probably still at the previous location.
The rabbit judging was ongoing
and so was the chicken judging.
I don't know the criteria, but these all look the same to me, especially from this viewpoint.

Would you believe that I have never eaten a funnel cake?
I save my fried dough eating for Cafe Du Monde and Krispy Creme.
I do always get a greasy corndog, though.
Today we go to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Please send good thoughts.

please tell me you went right back & tried one. that was my birthday cake one year when we were in Cape May, NJ ... it was delicious!!
i say had it once don't need it again. it is how i make my brain realize i don't need treats again. it works, so far. ha. ha!! (:
I have had a funnel cake and they are yummy. Hubby and I split one last year at the Indiana State Fair. I get my greasy corndog fix from the Kiwanis booth at our local Spring Festival and again on Independence Day. I think 2 a year is enough.
Vanderbilt is a wonderful Hospital. He will be in good hands. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.
I will be praying for you both and your visit to the medical center today.
I enjoyed your superb photos...so clear and colorful.
God bless you both.
I will be praying for you and hubby.
BTW, I feel sorry for everyone who has their photos up against yours at the fair. They might as well pack their bags now, and go home. :-)
Fried funnel cake? Never heard of it! lol Love the merry go round. So colourful. I love your comment about the chickens. :)
I would have to have a corn dog too with mustard! I'm praying for ya'll and look forward to hearing from you.
fair = funnel cake for us, but we don't eat KK and no sugar in the house. i have eaten maybe 5 in my whole life, the funnels i mean. that chicken looks like he is giving you The Look, as in Mean...
I love the Carousel. Deep fried Mars Bar is my weakness.
Beautiful merry-go-round! Funnel cakes - something else I have never come across before! Thinking of you.
Prayers and good thoughts are going your way! Keep the faith!
Love these shots and I can't wait to see how you do in the contest. I didn't win place or show in our county fair but will try again next year. Success to you!!!
Hoping things go well today at the hospital.
I agree that beignets are better than funnel cakes at the fair. I also wonder how they judge those chickens.
Great photos and I'm sure everyone will love the ones you have on exhibit!
Sending prayers for you both as you visit the clinic.
I too have never had funnel cake, I'd rather have twisted potatoes or whatever they're called!
Hoping you got good news and many questions answered today.
Funnel cakes are about the only thing I do eat at the fairs...I am never disappointed in them.
