Windsor Ruins, near Port Gibson / Alcorn, Mississippi, U. S. A.
What an awesome experience to stand next to these huge pillars and imagine what it must have been like to live in a home such as this. The home survived the Civil War by being occupied by the Union Army, just to burn down in 1890 from a carelessly thrown cigarette.
The sky was disappointing the day we were there, but the websites below have some better shots.

These are some very impressive pillars. So sad that they are unstable, it would be interesting to explore them a bit more closely.

Oh, my, these are awesome. I cannot imagine that being my home...I guess if I grew up there I would be used to it. But sure can't imagine it now.
