Ok, it's over

Thanksgiving, that is. So it is OK to start Christmas things.
However, I'm not sure that I'm done with fall.

Hedge apple green

A contrast to the bright pinky red mum of yesterday.
I picked up these hedge apples at the golf course.  I certainly hope they don't mind.

PInky red

Thought I should catch these mums that a friend brought me before they are too far gone.

Last bits

A volunteer crape myrtle sprout in my asparagus fern still has fall color.

On the other side

There seemed to be some interest in what was on the other side of the Mt. Zion swinging bridge that I posted the other day.   There is a pasture on the other side and one day in 2010, these gals, and possibly some guys, were there.

Then, on down the road a bit, some of their friends had just been called for feeding.

As far as crossing the bridge, yes, I have crossed it and it seems to be in pretty good shape.  It seems to have been built sturdily and has had some work done in recent years.

Use my "Mt. Zion" label for more.

Isn't that a pretty blue sky.  Straight out of the camera.  I did no editing.

Smoky Mountain sunset

We spent a few days in the Great Smoky Mountains a couple of weeks ago.  The fall color was a little late this year so I didn't get many(any) of those great photos I was hoping for.
But, this view from our cabin near Gatlinburg was pretty good.  The orange you see on the mountains was from the sunset rather than fall color in the trees.
Pretty anyway, huh?

Clashin'

What's wrong with this picture?

Anyone else out there who wishes we could let the fall color have its glory without rushing the Christmas decor?  Fake plastic green and bright red just ruin the whole thing for me.
Geez.  Wait until Thanksgiving is here and gone.

A different fall color

The view from my house early one morning last week.  They finished picking the fields here late the day before and the equipment stayed here overnight.
